Operation Christmas Child, 2022
It is time for Operation Christmas Child! Please consider packing one or
more Christmas Boxes and making a financial donation for postage ($10 per
box) OR building a box online at samaritanpurse.org. You can also use your
own shoebox!
There are three different age groups to choose from. You will have a
pamphlet which gives you ideas and also tells you what should NOT be
included.
As you pack your box please prayerfully consider this mission. Please
keep in mind that your gift may be the only gift this special child receives. The
most important part of this mission is to pray for the child that will receive your
gift.
Your shoebox needs to be brought to the church by Sunday, November
13th. Set it on the altar steps for Pastor Melissa to pray over and bless on that
Sunday. Pat and Larry Joiner will pick up the boxes on Monday, November
14th and deliver them to the drop off location.

*When we think of Christmas, we think December! This year, however, Advent begins on Sunday, November 27th. Let’s have the church ready for the season. On Sunday, November 20th, preparations are being made for the Swiss Steak Dinner. How about doing preparations for the sanctuary also? Come decorate the trees in the sanctuary and put up other decorations at 12:30 P.M.

*It’s been a couple of years since we’ve had poinsettias on the altar. If you would like to give one in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone, write the name(s) on a piece of paper along with your name and place it with your poinsettia. Please have them in church by Saturday, November 26th.

*Once again this year we will have the CARE tree to help local families that are struggling. The tree will be at the front of the sanctuary with tags sometime around November 16th. The unwrapped gifts along with the tags need to be under the tree by Thursday, December 8th. Wrapping paper is also appreciated. What a worthwhile ministry to help those in our community.
